Description

Taylor Engineering, Inc. is seeking a talented CAD Operator/Designer to join our team — with the flexibility to work remotely or from one of our office locations in Philadelphia, PA; Jacksonville, Tampa, or Destin, FL.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineers and CAD staff to produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation that meet our established standards and reflect our commitment to excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering direction and sketches to produce conceptual, permit, and construction-level drawings
  • Prepare and update detailed plans for coastal engineering projects such as: navigable waterway dredging and dredged material management; shoreline stabilization; waterfront structures (docks, piers, seawalls, wharfs); beach restoration; artificial reefs; and living shoreline installations
  • Create 3D digital models to support design visualization, quantity takeoffs, and project planning
  • Review completed civil and structural engineering drawings to confirm compliance with technical specifications and design standards

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting/design or a related field
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit, plus Microsoft Excel and Office applications
  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical design

  • Capable of reading, interpreting, and translating technical diagrams into practical designs

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting up to (25) pounds unassisted
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
  • Ability to occasionally go into the field and to observe and document construction sites
