Description

Taylor Engineering seeks to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Specialist to administer and oversee all contracting and subcontracting activities for three business entities.  Responsibilities include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of federal, state, county, municipal, and private contracts and subcontracts, amendments, and terminations.
  • Interpret contractual terms and conditions in accordance with Taylor’s contracting standards, business objectives, and applicable laws.
  • Advise internal project teams on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and opportunities, ensuring alignment with company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Negotiate critical contract provisions such as warranties, indemnities, standard of care, force majeure, limitations of liability, and negligence clauses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple cultures and geographic regions, building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support continuous improvement in contract management lifecycle and ensure consistency in contractual standards and practices.
  • Periodically review and audit contracts and subcontracts for compliance with insurance, reporting, and other contractual terms.

Requirements

A qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in contract management or procurement, with a minimum of two in Federal contracting
  • Coursework in business law or contract law
  • Knowledge of all contract types (T&M, FFP, Cost Plus, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with contractors, engineers, and government agencies.
  • Ability to negotiate contract terms, balancing advocating for the company with maintaining long-term relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Highly detail-oriented and ability to work independently

  • Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
