Empower Parent Advocate Job description – Will Rogers Courts
Purpose: The Parent Advocate will be serving primarily at the Will Rogers community but will also occasionally work with the other parent advocates in other areas as needed. The Parent Advocate is a vital liaison between families and the services they need. This role empowers parents by helping them navigate social service systems and access community resources. Parent Advocates work with parents using a variety of interventions including structured parent education groups, parent support groups, and individual parent coaching and mentoring. The ideal candidate is compassionate, culturally competent, and deeply committed to helping families overcome systemic barriers.
Job Responsibilities
- Become trained in the interventions as the group facilitator.
- Recruit participant in the community through strong relationship with other community resources.
- Create fun and interactive environment adults to learn.
- Support and provide positive connection with families.
- Support individual make-up or follow up sessions.
- Case coordination and management in conjunction with other service providers such as foster care workers, counselors, teachers, etc.
- Maintain and cultivate the strong the partnership between community resources and Lilyfield.
- Identify needs in the target community and create solutions to meet those needs.
- Maintain awareness of and relationships with a variety of other services providers.
- Assist in collecting data from each participant during the group sessions and maintain case files.
- Various marketing and PR activities for the agency.
- Build trusting relationships with parents to identify individual family needs.
- Provide one-on-one support to help families access housing, food, healthcare, education, legal aid, and other services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case notes, reports, and family service plans.
- Monitor family progress and follow up regularly to ensure continued support.
- Some driving is required to and from offices and or trainings.

Work Hours
Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00pm, some evenings for group programing and some weekends for community outreach.
Reporting
This position reports to Parent Program Manager
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s level degree in social work, psychology or a human service-related area of study with at least on year of experience in program coordination; or a high school diploma with three years of work experience along with lived experience in the community we are serving.

- Good problem-solving skills
- Meet requirements of licensing standards in regard to criminal background check.
- Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing the assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit on the floor, bend and be at ground level with children.
Ability to lift about 30lbs or less
