Therapist- Edmond

Purpose: Provide counseling, assessment and supportive services to children, adolescents, families, and young adults through the Counseling program primarily at the Edmond office but with the possibility of one day per week at the South Oklahoma City office.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide individual and family therapy for individuals and families facing trauma, challenging behaviors or mental health needs
  2. Assist in developing and facilitating parent and/or child groups as needed in conjunction with Lilyfield EmpowerOKC programming
  3. Collaborate with Lilyfield program staff and referring clients in need of counseling
  4. Manage and maintain appropriate case files per agency policy
  5. Attend and assist with special events as assigned
  6. Some driving may be required
  7. Other tasks as assigned

Financial Justification for the Position:

The position will allow for the maintenance and/or growth of the Counseling program. There are sufficient funds for this position.

Work Hours

Full Time Staff: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., possibly some evening and weekend appointments or groups as needed

This position reports to the Clinical Director

Education/Training

  1. Master’s level degree in social work, psychology or a human services related area of study
  2. Clinical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of Oklahoma under LCSW, LPC, or LMFT boards.

Competencies/Requirements:

  1. Willingness to agree to and abide by all policies and procedures including OP406 Code of Ethical and Christian Conduct and OP412 Faith Engagement.
  2. Solid clinical and therapeutic skills relevant to individual, group and family practice settings
  3. Experience in child trauma treatment
  4.  Demonstrated competence in assessment, and evaluation of children and families
  5. Knowledge of issues surrounding adoption and foster care
  6. Ability to use discretion when discussing sensitive or confidential information
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills
  8. Ability to schedule and multitask
  9.  Ability to meet deadlines and manage quality and timely documentation
  10. Good problem-solving skills
  11. Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
  12. Meet requirements of licensing standards in regard to criminal background check

Experience

At least two years of clinical practice experience, or experience in relevant practicum or internship positions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit on the floor, bend and be at ground level with children.
