Role Overview 

We are seeking a passionate Staff Reporter to join our team, focusing on local government coverage, growth and development and community events. This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in public affairs, a knack for storytelling, and a desire to make a tangible impact through journalism. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Investigative Reporting: Delve into local government affairs, public policies, and community issues to uncover stories that matter to our readers. 

• Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community members, local officials, and organizations to stay informed about developments and events. 

• Multimedia Storytelling: Produce compelling content across various platforms, including written articles, photography, video segments, and podcasts. 

• Breaking News Coverage: Respond swiftly to emerging stories, providing accurate and timely information to our audience. 

• Collaborative Journalism: Work closely with editors and fellow reporters to brainstorm ideas, refine stories, and contribute to special projects.

Work Schedule and Location 

While the position primarily involves daytime weekday hours, evening, weekend, and holiday work may occasionally be required. The role is based at our downtown Cumming office, with opportunities for remote work. However, reporters are expected to spend significant time in the local community and our office to foster connections and ensure comprehensive coverage.
