Description

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assuring the overall provisions of comprehensive clinical services and case management for community programs. Clinical Supervisors are expected to exercise independent professional judgement and discretion in the leadership of Community Programs and demonstrates a commitment to services and values of the agency. The Clinical Supervisor reports directly to the Program Manager/and or Director.

 

DUTIES:
1. ACCOUNTABILITY: Oversees the provision of therapeutic services, ensuring that clients are receiving necessary clinical care and guidance and that all documentation, reports and case records are thoroughly and properly completed on time. Monitors staffs’ economy of time and accountability of service.
2. SUPERVISION: Administratively supervises and reviews all staff progress notes and documentation for an appropriate number of staff as directed by the Manager/and or Director.
3. SUPPORT: Provides field-based supportive guidance by participation in team meetings, individual counseling, crisis intervention, and direct in-home clinical service, as necessary.
4. CONSULTATION: Provides clinical supervision and supportive consultation to therapists, Case Managers, and team members when needed.
5. PROCEDURES: Assists in development or modification of procedures to work effectively with individual clients and families.
6. BACK-UP: Is fully acquainted with all the responsibilities of the therapist’s duties and provides urgent, on-call or back-up clinical services when needed.
7. COORDINATION: Assures multi-disciplinary service in coordination with the adjunctive services, County Social Workers, probation officers, and other community partners. Coordinates weekly treatment team meetings, case reads/reviews and ensures that the treatment plans are formulated, implemented, and regularly evaluated.
8. ORIENTATION AND TRAINING: Orients and trains new therapists, ensuring that all staff have the training to competently perform the duties of their position. Identifies staff training needs and participates in delivering training sessions that meet the needs of staff and the clinical needs of the program.
9. QI: Regularly communicates with the Quality Improvement Liaison and implements necessary program adjustments. Conducts periodic, regular internal audits of files and ensures service delivery outcomes, quality of reports and adherence to diagnostic summary.
10. COMPLIANCE: Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, contractual requirements, and ethical standards of the profession.
11. ETHICS: Performs all duties within appropriate scope and boundaries and with application of legal and ethical standards.
12. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Demonstrates respect for the intrinsic value of each person, their individual differences and culture. Is capable of accurately identifying and building on the strengths of employees to better reach their potential. Is approachable and accessible in responding to staff’s issues and concerns and provides supportive consultation and when needed.
13. EVALUATIONS AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS: Demonstrates the ability to fairly evaluate staff and provide them with the input necessary to improve performance, including coaching staff on organization, time management, how to document progress notes, perform assessments and complete documentation correctly. Assures that all disciplinary actions are conducted with fairness and respect and focused on the improvement of the employee.
14. PRODUCTIVITY: Meets productivity standards established for the position.
15. OTHER: Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

1. LCSW, or Psy.D State of California license. 

2. Four years full time clinical experience in a comparable mental health setting, two years post-licensure. Two years supervisory experience preferred.

3. Valid California Driver’s License, good driving record, and must be able to drive to fulfill the duties of the position.

 

$1,000 Signing Bonus: Receive the first half of $1,000 on the first paycheck and the second half after completion of 6 months of employment.
