Description

The Exhibit Builder is responsible for the construction, fabrication, and assembly of high-quality exhibits, displays, cabinetry, and event environments. This role requires strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in exhibit fabrication, carpentry, and cabinet making, with a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Confer with Lead Exhibit Builder or Project Manager regarding suggestions for changes from the detail prints
  • Work closely with the estimating and account services teams to proactively identify and implement potential cost efficiencies
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and shop plans.
  • Fabricate and laminate wall panels, cabinets, showcases, counters, and custom booth elements.
  • Construct high-quality displays, cabinetry, and exhibit components from materials such as plywood, MDF, acrylic, veneer, and solid surfaces.
  • Operate hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, adhering to shop safety standards.
  • Integrate AV, graphics, and interactive components into custom-built exhibits.
  • Perform basic prep and clean-up for painting and finishing hand-off.
  • Label all custom components to support field installation.

Qualifications

What we’d love to see:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in exhibit fabrication, cabinetry, or millwork.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry, including rough, finish, and trim work.
  • Physical fitness to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
  • Experience with acrylic work and basic metalwork is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, during busy seasons.
