Description

AAJ is seeking an IT Systems and Database Administrator for its IT department. The IT Systems and Database Administrator assumes responsibility for delivering comprehensive technical support encompassing application systems, hardware, software, AV, network infrastructure, database, on-premises, and Microsoft Azure cloud hosting environment. The IT Systems and Database Administrator play a key role in ensuring efficiency, security, and alignment of technology systems with the organization's goals and objectives.

 

Job duties include:

  • Manage the organization's technology infrastructure, including servers, workstations, AV, networks, databases, and software applications. Ensure that systems are secure, dependable, scalable, and capable of supporting organization’s operations.
  • Serve as Microsoft 365 system and SQL database administrator.
  • Contribute to and implement recommendations on advancing operations within the department to gain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the help desk support assistant and ensure the support requests are managed in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the helpdesk team's effectiveness and productivity.
  • Assist the Director of Information Technology to review and prepare the annual IT budget.
  • Identify cost-effective solutions and prioritize spending to ensure that IT resources are used effectively.  Review and validate the invoices for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Information Technology to align IT strategies with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Provide training and support for staff members on IT systems and tools. Ensure that employees have the knowledge and skills they need to effectively use technology in their roles.
  • Maintain and update plans for disaster recovery and business continuity to minimize disruptions to organization’s operations in the event of IT failures or other emergencies.
  • Implement IT service management best practices, aligning operational processes with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standards to optimize service delivery.
  • Initiate annual audits of policies and procedures, formulating compliance action items pertaining to service interactions and contractual obligations with business partners and clients.
  • Provide backup coverage for the Helpdesk Assistant.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including hardware and software inventory management, procurement, environmentally responsible recycling practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices, driving continuous improvement in IT processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MCSE/MCSA, Azure Administrator, or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator.
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems and Database Administrator managing cloud-based environments including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or third-party hosting (e.g., Rackspace).
  • Strong experience with Windows Server, Azure Active Directory, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
  • Proven skills in MS SQL Server or other relational databases, including performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender, and Autopilot deployment.
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, SSL certificates, and network security best practices.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk) and email security platforms (e.g., Mimecast).
  • Working knowledge of Association Management Systems (AMS, preferably Momentive Software/NetForum) and Content Management Systems (CMS, preferably Sitecore).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and dedication to improving user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week.

 

Salary Range: $105,600-$120,000
