Unit Receptionist
Full Time (Mon-Fri)
Position Summary
               The Unit Receptionist serves as the first contact for patients, families, and referral sources who contact the Withdrawal Management Unit. This position provides professional clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations, effective communication, and a welcoming environment. The Unit Receptionist manages incoming calls, assists with patient inquiries and intake coordination, and collaborates with staff to verify or obtain funding authorizations for services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer and direct all incoming phone calls professionally and compassionately.
- Serve as the initial contact for individuals seeking admission, collecting basic information, and routing calls to other staff as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with potential patients, families, and referral partners while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in verifying funding sources for potential patients, including insurance verification or collaboration with county human services for funding.
- Maintain a working knowledge of funding sources and requirements and collaborate with billing staff to ensure accurate documentation.
- Support the intake process by coordinating with nursing and clinical staff to facilitate admissions.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate efficiently with nursing, clinical, BHT, and administrative staff to support the overall functioning of the unit.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the unit.
