Job Summary: The Distribution Center (DC) Manager implements procedures to improve quality, safety, efficiency and productivity within the Distribution Center. Providing strong direction and leadership, this individual will develop employees, manage processes and ensure compliance to various standards & metrics, while driving continuous improvement projects.
- Directly leads all employees within the distribution center team ensuring all are properly trained to effectively perform their job responsibilities
- Drives and monitors departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and constantly strives for improvement
- Sustains long term strategic inventory control and warehousing processes to maximize profitability, cash flow and customer satisfaction
- Ensures a high level of inventory accuracy
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships and communication with marketing, customer service, quality assurance, production, and corporate resources
- Develops and retains heightened safety awareness and practices to ensure no incidents or lost time accidents
- Ensures documentation, including all necessary DOT documentation is completed, submitted, and maintained in an orderly and timely manner
- Operates within the parameters of the annual budget, responsible to operate and manage cost center P&L
- Successfully passes all regulatory, customer and third-part audits/inspections
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by staying up to date with all work processes and industry-wide developments
- Follows all safety procedures and actively participates in safety training and safety system ownership initiatives
- Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury, accident, or unsafe condition to plant manager immediately
- Supports and complies with GMP’s; understands and follows emergency action plan
- Supports food safety, quality, and legality
- Maintains a highly sanitized, organized, and safe working environment ensuring the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
