Description

Qualifications
  • Experience in the food preparation field in a restaurant, kitchen or dining area.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and operations, of kitchen equipment and materials used in food prep work.
  • Knowledge of food costing, inventory, POS programs, Excel, Word and other computer programs.
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the general public.
  • Ability to perform duties in a clean and professional appearance and manner.
  • Intermediate understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
  • Previous kitchen management/supervisory experience required.
  • Professional communication skills are required.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized.
  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
  • Food Safety/ Sanitation Certified
  • Food Handlers permit required.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and some holidays. Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to speak and hear
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the
  • ability to adjust focus.
  • Constant standing with some walking
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
Required Certifications and Licenses
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • State of Louisiana Serv Safe Food Handler Certification
  • Valid Responsible Vendor License

  • Full-Service Restaurant Kitchen Experience is desired.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizational skills-Ability to be organized in a changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of uncertainty or crisis.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
