Stormwater Project Engineer

Aspect Consulting, LLC (Aspect), an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a project level Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our growing Stormwater Practice. This is a full-time, career-track position, with the initial focus on providing stormwater design and compliance services under the direction of senior engineers and project managers, progressively growing into independent design and compliance services and eventually project and client management. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with attention to detail that can work on the following primary responsibilities:

  • Field activities at stormwater design project sites, including existing condition assessments, drainage system inventories, drainage basin ground truthing, staking for survey and geotechnical work, and infiltration testing support
  • Completing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling
  • Reviewing and using stormwater management and design manuals
  • Reviewing and understanding state and federal stormwater regulations
  • Completing analyses and preparing conceptual stormwater designs in GIS
  • Preparing stormwater conveyance and treatment system designs and specifications
  • Preparing stormwater construction plans and details in AutoCAD
  • Understanding and applying stormwater treatment technologies for particular sites
  • Preparing engineering and construction cost estimates for stormwater systems
  • Writing technical stormwater submittals and reports
  • Providing stormwater project construction management support


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS degree in civil, environmental engineering or related field
  • EIT or PE registration
  • 2+ to 6+ years of experience in engineering and design work on stormwater projects
  • Ample experience applying stormwater management and design manuals in relation to years of experience
  • Experience working on construction or industrial sites
  • Ability to collect quality field data with high attention to detail and thorough documentation
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Clear writing and communication skills
  • Solid proficiency using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to travel as required
