INTEGRATED MARKETING DIRECTOR

 

Bridgewater College’s Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC) seeks a new Integrated Marketing Director to join our team. It’s an exciting time for this role, as we build on our tuition transparency initiatives and expand our digital advertising campaigns, social media strategy, and web presence. The position is full-time and is available immediately. 

Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing & Communications, the Integrated Marketing Director is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive integrated marketing plans and strategies to raise awareness of and better position the Bridgewater brand in the marketplace. Reporting to the Vice President for Marketing & Communications, this individual manages all components of marketing plan development, implementation, and measurement to ensure meaningful engagement with key constituencies. Partnering with departments across campus, the Integrated Marketing Director works to raise visibility and enhance brand awareness of the College’s academic and institutional programs. This person oversees web, social media, video, and photography for the College, while supervising the Digital Media Specialist as well as the Photographer and Digital Content Creator. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

Strategic marketing activities and campaigns 

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, focused on brand awareness and prospective student recruitment, that have quantifiable objectives, methods, outcomes, and timelines. 
  • Plan, manage, and execute strategic marketing activities and campaigns—both digital and non-digital—including reserving media buys across community event sponsorship, print, digital, social and broadcast platforms; coordinating placements and timelines with advertising representatives and media vendors; and ensuring campaign assets are time-relevant and meet platform specifications and deadlines. 
  • Develop approaches to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities, including campaigns and individual ads, using tracking parameters, QR codes, UTM-tagged URLs, Google Analytics (and Tag Manager), and other attribution tools to assess engagement, conversion, and return on investment across platforms. 
  • Guide and support a social media team led by the Digital Media Specialist in developing platform-specific strategies for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn—ensuring timely scheduling, performance tracking, and adherence to relevant policies (accessibility, comment moderation, and response guidelines). 

 

Website Content Management 

  • Oversee WordPress site administration across multiple domains, including content creation, custom form development via Gravity Forms, RSS feed configuration, and optimization of site architecture for usability, accessibility, and search performance. 
  • Write strong marketing copy and edit the work of others.  

 

Team Management 

  • Oversee web, social media, video, and photography. 
  • Supervise Digital Media Specialist and Photographer and Digital Content Creator. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field 
  • Five or more years of experience in digital marketing and web management, including CMS administration (WordPress), digital campaign execution, analytics, and organic social media marketing. 

 

Required Skills 

  • Experience in marketing analysis 
  • Experience creating and implementing successful integrated marketing plans, preferably in higher education or other not-for-profit industry. 
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Google Ads (search, display, and YouTube), Meta advertising, and other digital platforms including campaign setup, audience targeting, and performance analysis 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse student body, faculty and staff. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, exceptional work ethic, and high level of initiative, energy, and creativity. 
  • Sense of humor and collegiality  
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required 

 

Pay is competitive, and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.

Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1,450 from 27 states and 19 countries.
