General Purpose:
Deliver high-quality food in a safe and sanitary environment to Jimbo’s customers, ensuring all products adhere to store standards and guidelines. The Food Runner is responsible for food preparation, cooking and heating foods for service, maintaining the Hot Food Case/Bar and Salad Bar, while delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare food for the salad bar and hot case, ensuring organized and efficient cooking and heating.
- Cook and heat prepared foods for service under time and temperature guidelines.
- Stock and present the hot case and salad bar in an appealing way throughout the day.
- Set up the salad bar, soup station, and hot bar/case within specified time standards.
- Maintain a well-stocked service area, handling tasks such as changing pans, labeling, restocking, and cleaning.
- Uphold quality food handling standards, including proper preparation, rotation, and storage in compliance with health regulations.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperatures in the hot case, recording temperature logs.
- Assist in preparing soups and other menu selections.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers on the floor.
- Keep the work area clean, sanitary, and well-stocked, complying with Health Department regulations.
- Organize daily menu production based on the production list.
- Ensure accurate department signage with product ingredients.
- Foster open communication and cooperation with Deli/Kitchen staff and assist customers within Customer Service Standards.
- Keep areas well stocked with packaging options.
Other Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to achieve department and store goals.
- Attend scheduled department and store meetings.
- Safely use knives and other equipment according to guidelines.
- Adhere to deli department and store policies outlined in the Staff Member Handbook and Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance in compliance with the Dress Code policy.
Work Environment:
- Work under various conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods.
- Safely operate around kitchen machinery and sharp knives.
