EPP RESIDENT SERVICES
JOB TITLE: EPP CDL Driver
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
General Description:
Provides and coordinates transportation to residents for medical appointments, shopping, banking, etc. Available to residents to do shopping, banking, errands, etc. on their behalf.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Transportation:
• Skilled to drive 30-passenger and smaller bus
• Skilled to operate wheelchair van
• Drive residents to and from scheduled medical appointments.
• Drive residents to shopping centers, banks, bus or train stations, airports, etc.
• Do errands for residents, and for staff on behalf of residents.
• Transport residents by golf cart to and from noon meal in dining room.
• Assists residents in and out of vehicles as needed.
2. Operation of Vehicle:
• Maintain record of driving in logbook in each vehicle.
• Report all mechanical problems with vehicles to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Transportation Coordinator as soon as they are evident .
• Have vehicle washed periodically as needed, at least monthly.
• Maintain clean, neat interior of the vehicle.
• Keep vehicle filled with gas.
• Turn in receipts for vehicle gas, maintenance, etc. to Accounting Department.
• Monthly check for oil, transmission and radiator fluids.
3. Assist resident to and from the vehicle, including meeting them at pick up and assist them in getting into the vehicle.
4. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes; attend workshops, seminars, etc. as approved.
5. Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by supervisor.
6. Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by Supervisor.

Work Area and Working Conditions:
Generally outside the facility in all types of weather conditions.
Entry Level Qualifications:
• High School diploma required.
• Genuine concern for people, patience in dealing with their needs.
• Current CDL Public Service Driver's license, good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift, carry packages and equipment up to 30 lbs.
2. Must be able to assist residents in and out of vehicles and in doctors' offices, guiding residents up to an average 160 lbs.
3. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
4. Must be able to bend, squat, twist, to secure wheelchairs in van.
5. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable and tactful manner and possess a pleasant speaking voice.
6. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions well.
7. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
8. Must function independently, have personal integrity, have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with other personnel, residents, and families.
9. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional and mental stability and patience to cope with the stress of the position.
Equipment to be used:
All passenger vehicles, including bus, van and wheelchair van.

1. Maintains vehicles in clean and safe condition.

2. Maintains all records involved with transportation , including log book, gas receipts, resident chargeable mileage, and maintenance requisitions
3. Operates vehicles using safe standards based on resident comfort
