Position Summary:
Saint Andrew’s School is seeking a Performing Arts Instructor responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth; and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic and artistic success.
This position will be responsible for teaching a combination of dance and theatre classes to students in grades 4-12, and will also support choreography for the fall Novemberfest and spring Celebration of Dance. A qualified candidate may also have opportunities to direct plays or musicals and/or to help choreograph the Lower, Middle, and Upper School musicals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum in alignment with department expectations
- Implement instructional activities that actively engage students in meaningful learning
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to best support students in the Theatre and Dance productions and performances
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues on a regular basis
- Create Performing Arts course documentation as determined by the divisional expectations, working to vertically align curriculum
- Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts to verify student eligibility and communicate course requirements
- Regularly attend all Division, Department, and Production meetings
- Serve as an advisor
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Performing Arts
