Position Summary:
The Athletic Coordinator works closely with the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Directors to support the daily functions, success, and growth of all athletic operations. The work period for this position is 11-months, from August 1 to June 30.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist students, parents, and coaches with general athletic questions/needs
  • Answers athletic department phone
  • Coordinates athletic facilities and set-ups for practices and games
  • Coordinates all athletic needs with Operations
  • Coordinates lining of athletic fields
  • Prepares officials payment for each athletic contest
  • Prepares required paperwork for purchase orders and credit card payments for the Business Office
  • Assists with organizing Athletic special events
  • Assists as game supervisor/administrator for home contests
  • Assists as equipment/uniform manager
  • Provides hospitality to visiting teams and officials
  • Assists Assistant Athletic Director with game day accounts
  • Additional responsibilities to include other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in related field
  • 3+ years of related experience required
  • Proficiency in applicable technology (e.g., Google Suite, Athletic Website, School Databases, Magnus Health, Home Campus, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Possess creativity and problem-solving techniques to help reach acceptable and workable solutions
  • This position requires flexibility with work hours, which may vary depending on operational needs. Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under stressful conditions
  • Serves as a positive role model to student athletes
  • Possesses sound judgment with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the school

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: 

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average to heavy weight objects, standing and/or walking for extended periods of times during busy hours. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may include extreme temperatures, both inside and outside, precipitation and heat, due to the South Florida weather.
