The Role

Well established calibration service organization in Henrietta, NY (Rochester, NY area) area is seeking a Calibration Technician for a full-time position.  The candidate will be responsible for the calibration of TMDE, in the calibration lab or in the field work at the customers’ location, as needed. 

  

Job Description 

The candidate will work both independently and with other technicians on the team.  The successful candidate should have at least one (1) year of calibration experience in up to three disciplines (e.g. Electrical, Dimensional or Pressure).  Additionally, the Calibration Technician will be a self-starter, possess good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as have computer competency. 

Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% to customer sites to calibrate a variety of inspection, measuring and testing equipment. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with other technicians within the lab to learn calibration fundamentals, which can include measurement, temperature, electronics, etc.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
  • Maintain calibration standards
  • Working knowledge and competency in at least three 3 disciplines (dimensional, electrical, torque, temperature, pressure, etc.)
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel requirement: 25-50% of work schedule

Qualifications

Education And Experience

 

  • High School graduate / or equivalent required
  • Associates degree from college or technical school preferred. ; or at least one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

Preferred
 

  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics.
