Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in DJing and music production, with strong skills in selecting, mixing, and transitioning between songs across a wide range of styles and genres
- Solid understanding of DJ techniques, equipment, and music software
- Subject matter competency paired with practical experience teaching or leading music activities
- Experience working with youth in afterschool programs, camps, schools, or community settings is highly desirable
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with music production software and equipment (e.g., Serato, Ableton, GarageBand, FL Studio)
- Knowledge of diverse musical styles, cultures, and histories, with sensitivity to differences in ability
- Proactively implement positive behavior supports, restorative practices, and conflict resolution strategies to foster mutual respect and community within the club
- Effective communication skills to explain music concepts, creative techniques, and equipment use
- Talent for building supportive relationships that inspire creativity, teamwork, and confidence
- Ability to establish clear expectations, routines, and a positive, engaging learning environment
- Demonstrates PUC’s core values: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticity
- Organized, adaptable, and able to problem-solve in a dynamic afterschool setting
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Regular attendance, punctuality, and accountability are essential
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
