JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview:

A Bouldering Gym Supervisor is someone who develops the team and embodies Sender One’s core values when making decisions. The Bouldering Gym Supervisor is a coach and mentor who collaborates with the Gym Manager to ensure Sender One staff and Shift Leads are providing outstanding experience to new visitors, guests, members, and partners who walk through our doors.

Responsibilities:

  • “Manager on duty” to resolve customer issues/complaints that escalate beyond what the frontline & Shift Lead staff can handle in the absence of the Gym Manager;
  • Communicate operational, customer service, risk management, and staff issues to the Gym Manager;
  • Check in with assigned staff on a consistent basis and coaches for accountability and performance;
  • Oversee the supervision, administration, and training of Adult and Youth Programming;
  • Assist with the interview & hiring process, including but not limited to interviewing and onboarding;
  • Oversee new hire progress using the Training Checklist(s) and transfer data to the Staff Training Checklist;
  • Assist Bouldering Gym Manager with the schedule;
  • Assist with any ongoing execution of services & maintenance such as cleaning, equipment maintenance, heating/air conditioning, etc;
  • Manage facility inspections, equipment inventory, and the replacement of protective equipment;
  • Operational knowledge of Sender One offerings and Pro Shop products;
  • Complete goals on development plan set by the Bouldering Gym Manager;
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
  • Knowledge and utilization of the following systems: Paycom, Google Suites, Rock Gym Pro, and Basecamp.

Time Commitment:

  • Must be able to work 30-40 hours per work week (Sun - Sat);
  • Must be fully available to work at least one weekend day per work week (Sun - Sat);
  • Must be able to work some weeknight shifts and/or high volume shift demands depending on business and/or operational needs;
  • Must be able to attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly department and/or gym meetings;
  • This position is based at the gym’s location, and will periodically travel to other locations.
