General Responsibilities
The Systems Manager plays a vital role in the ongoing success and functionality of Peachtree Church’s technology systems. Reporting to the Systems Director, this position is responsible for the daily oversight and operational management of Peachtree’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, user support, and vendor coordination. The Systems Manager will directly manage the relationship with the church’s IT contractor, ensuring responsive, secure, and effective service delivery.
This individual will serve as the high-level technical resource for staff and will assist in implementing system improvements and supporting staff onboarding and training efforts.
Core Responsibilities
1. IT Oversight & Contractor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Peachtree’s IT contractor
- Monitor service tickets, evaluate response times, and ensure service levels meet organizational needs
- Coordinate and communicate IT needs, upgrades, and issue resolution in partnership with the IT contractor
- Support budgeting and planning efforts related to IT services and infrastructure
2. Technology Operations & Support
- Manage hardware lifecycle, including procurement, setup, maintenance, and decommissioning of equipment
- Ensure proper functioning of email systems, file storage (OneDrive, SharePoint, Network), networking, internet, and security tools
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and software licenses
- Support basic help desk needs and escalate complex issues appropriately
- Maintain and update documentation for technical procedures and user support
3. System Administration
- Assist in administrative support and troubleshooting of key platforms such as: Microsoft 365, TouchPoint, EMS, Asana, etc.
- Support integrations between platforms as needed
4. Staff Support & Training
- Assist with onboarding new staff by setting up equipment and access to systems
- Offer first-level training and guidance for staff on using basic IT tools and systems
- Coordinate with Systems Director and HR for staff technology orientation and refreshers
5. Security & Risk Mitigation
- Support implementation of security protocols, backups, and software updates
- Monitor for potential vulnerabilities and collaborate with the IT contractor on prevention and remediation
6. Project Support
- Assist the Systems Director with special projects, upgrades, and new system implementations
- Track project milestones and coordinate tasks with internal and external stakeholders
