Wonderfully Made is a ministry of Peachtree Church that cultivates community for adults with intellectual disabilities, known as Wonder Makers, through a gospel-centered day program anchored in belonging, dignity, and joy. Our signature bakery model provides meaningful activities that create connection, confidence, and purpose. Peachtree Church is honored to be the home of the first Wonderfully Made chapter and a founding partner in this growing national movement.
Job Summary:
The Director of the Wonderfully Made Day Program at Peachtree Church will lead the design and delivery of a vibrant, Christ-centered community experience for Wonder Makers, their families, volunteers, and staff. This position includes oversight of the weekday day program (Monday–Thursday) and the Wonderfully Made bakery, which is an activity of the program. In the coming years the director will also help shape and launch a new ministry expression for adults with intellectual disabilities on Sunday mornings. The ideal candidate is highly relational, spiritually mature, and passionate about building inclusive spaces where every person experiences the love of Christ and a place to belong.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise assistant program staff and Bakery Manager.
- Manage daily logistics including attendance, schedules, communication, and record-keeping.
- Oversee supply needs, space use, and support upkeep of program and bakery areas.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Program Leadership (Monday–Thursday)
- Plan, schedule, and lead a weekly rhythm of engaging, developmentally appropriate activities (e.g., baking, art, worship, exercise, devotions, outings).
- Shape a culture of safety, joy, and belonging consistent with the mission of Wonderfully Made and Peachtree Church.
- Support Wonder Makers’ growth in social, spiritual, and life skills.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with families and team members.
- Ensure the Bakery Manager and Volunteers are equipped and able to fulfill bakery orders that include participation by Wonder Makers.
Volunteer Engagement
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers, including Wonder Crew members and Activity Leaders.
- Foster meaningful relationships between Wonder Makers and volunteers.
- Coordinate weekly volunteer assignments and ensure a welcoming environment for new participants.
Family and Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Wonder Maker families at Peachtree.
- Cultivate relationships with church partners, staff, and the broader community to build awareness and support.
- Integrate Wonderfully Made into the broader life of Peachtree Church through presence and collaboration.
Compliance and Administration
- Ensure the program meets all regulatory and safety standards.
- Manage incident reporting, risk assessment, and staff compliance with church policies.
- Contribute to annual planning, evaluation, and budget oversight.
Sunday Ministry Leadership (Future)
- Partner with Peachtree Church leaders to design and launch a Sunday morning ministry for adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Serve as the point leader for Sunday morning programming, creating a welcoming space where Wonder Makers can worship, learn, and connect.
- Coordinate volunteers and curriculum for inclusive spiritual formation on Sundays.
Work Schedule and Expectations
- Sunday Availability: As Sunday is the primary day of worship and ministry activity, regular Sunday attendance and participation in duties are expected once the Sunday morning ministry is launched unless otherwise specified by the supervisor.
- Holiday Commitments: The church’s most significant events occur during Christmas and Easter seasons. Staff members are expected to be available and fully engaged during these periods, including services on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, and related programming.
- Weekly Staff Meetings: Employees are required to attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and staff chapels, which are essential to fostering unity, spiritual growth, and organizational alignment.
- Flexibility: Due to the nature of the ministry, work schedules may include occasional evenings, weekends, or special events outside normal office hours. Flexibility is essential to meeting ministry needs.
