Job Purpose:
The Racing Instructor is responsible for the comprehensive instruction of operating racing vehicles while demonstrating and ensuring that Exotics Racing students/customers maneuver vehicles with optimal safety. Instructors provide one-on-one coaching, in classroom instruction and briefing as well as instructing inside one of the racing vehicles.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide racing instruction and one-on-one coaching as a passenger to students/customers;
- Instruct students/customers to safely maneuver race cars through the course, around the track at an accelerated rate of speed; the instructor must always remain acutely aware of the track conditions and adapt coaching to customer skill level and track conditions;
- Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize the student/customer's learning pursuant to company training and procedures;
- Monitor the student/customer's driving abilities related to shifting gears, braking, and accelerating; coach the customer/student to execute these tasks while traveling at high speed;
- Participate in classroom briefing with students/customers;
- Coordinate and facilitate track discovery laps with customers/students;
- Display professional and courteous demeanor when escorting customers/students to cars;
- Maintain clean cars by wiping down as necessary;
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean;
- Manage confidential information;
- Take care of car and reports any mechanical or customer safety concerns to management;
- If needed, provide ride along exploratory lap to customer if needed pursuant to company policies and procedures;
- Regular and consistent attendance;
- Maintain a positive and engaging attitude toward customers at all times;
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
- Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services. and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Consistent positive attitude reflected through body language such as smiling and engaging with customers.
- Language: Must be fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of engines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance; ability to detect mechanical issues in a car a plus.
- Public Safety and Security: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Tools: Calculators, desktop computers, scanners, copiers, fax and phone systems.
- Technology: Intermediate skills with Microsoft Windows and Office environment (Word and Outlook) with the ability to send emails and use various applications in new technologies.
- Communication: Knowledge of effective communication.
- Safety: Knowledge of maximizing safety of vehicle performance and track conditions while providing the best customer service possible.
- Other: Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the performance of exotic cars and racing.

Work Environment
