Working in our Northeast Child Development Center is both challenging and incredibly rewarding, as you witness the growth and achievements of the children in your care. You play a crucial role in the development and growth of a group of amazing young children. Your responsibilities go beyond teaching basic skills; you create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of our community’s next generation. Our center is open to children ages 6 weeks through kindergarten.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment: ensure that the environment is safe, welcoming, and inclusive for all children. Set up classrooms with age-appropriate materials and activities that encourage exploration and learning.
- Developing Curriculum and Lesson Plans: design and implement a curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children. This includes planning activities that promote literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social interaction.
- Observing and Assessing Development: observe and assess each child’s progress, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and use this information to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging Social Skills: help children develop essential social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and empathy. Through group activities and guided play, teach children to interact positively with their peers.
- Supporting Emotional Well-being: provide emotional support and guidance, helping children navigate their feelings and build self-esteem. Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere where children feel valued and understood.
- Engaging with Families: maintain open communication with families, sharing insights about their child's development and offering guidance on how to support learning at home. Building strong partnerships with families is key to every child’s success
