Job Posting for: Daycare, Aide

Location: Northeast Child Development Center (NECDC)

Reports to: Director, Margie Bragg

Status: Part-Time, 15- 25 hours per week AND Full-Time, 30-40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday / Hours depending on needs of program

Broad Scope and Function of Job:

The Child Care Aide works under the supervision of the Head Teachers and is responsible for providing a warm and nurturing environment that meets the needs of each child in the classroom and assisting team teachers in providing learning and social experiences, which are age, appropriate in order to provide a high-quality early learning environment for children. All teaching staff must adhere to ethical responsibilities to children, to families, to colleagues and to the community and society.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with children, birth to kindergarten
  • Managing the classroom
  • Assist with executing the curriculum.
  • Record Keeping
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Professional development
  • Setting the tone of the classroom
  • Organizing and collecting materials

Qualifications

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be over 18 years old.
  • Six months experience working with young children, preferred, but not required.

  • The candidate must pass a criminal background check, DHS background check, and be able to sit, stand, kneel, bend at the waist frequently and lift up to 40 lbs. frequently, up to 60 lbs. occasionally.

Compensation: $15.00 + /hour, depending on qualifications, + part time employees are eligible for PTO and paid holidays.
