Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, or related field, required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of three years progressively responsible professional-level work experience in the field of Human Resources, required; five or more years, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgment
- PHR or SPHR, and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-CPS certification, strongly preferred
- Experience in a higher education setting, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the academic environment, including the tenure system, preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, engage in creative problem-solving, and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
- Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality
- Understanding of the legal aspects of human resources
- Intercultural competency; ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Extensive computer skills including skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience working with and maintaining a comprehensive HRIS, preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as necessary
