Accounting Manager/Controller

Principal Objective of Position:                                                                                                     

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial operations while enhancing processes and ensuring accuracy across the accounting department.

• Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close processes; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Cash Management: Support the company’s daily cash flow and maintain cash forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity across operations.
• Reconciliations: Prepare and/or review reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts to maintain accuracy in the general ledger.
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Oversight: Manage the AP and AR functions, providing direction to support staff and ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
• Process Development & Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes, leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 functionality. Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide support and mentorship to accounting staff, while also collaborating with divisional teams.
• Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies while maintaining the accuracy of records and adhering to deadlines.
• Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets

Education and Experience Required:                                                                                           

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience preferrable in a supervisory role

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:                                                                                  

• Proficiency in Excel and ERP Software packages
• Thorough knowledge of accounting theories, practices, regulations, and financial concepts relative to profitability and financial ratios
• Strong analytical, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient use of PC and software for data analysis and report generation

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                

• CPA / CMA, is a plus
• Lean Manufacturing experience / Six Sigma training, is a plus

Work Environment:                                                                                                                         

This job operates in a clerical office setting. However, walking across the warehouse is required in order to supervise all accounting departments. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
