LSA Service Center - Machine Operator Helper

Principal Objective of Position:                                                                                                                          

The Operator Helper handles and maintains the flow of materials and products in processing area according to established guidelines. They operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment and assist Operator in material processing.

• Must be deemed trained and qualified to assist the operator in processing material to customer specifications
• Adhere to the Safe Job Procedures pertaining to the operation of the equipment
• Operate both the over-head cranes and forklifts
• Perform pre-operational checks on the assigned equipment
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe work area

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Must have the ability to effectively read a tape measure
• Must have the ability to proactively maintain machine
• Must have attention to detail
• Good math, verbal, mechanical, and analytical skills
• Must have the ability to work on a team as well as independently
• Basic computer and printer use
• Steel square use
• Arc welder use
• Spray paint use
• Understanding of production procedures
• Must be able to work safely, watch out for the safety of others and maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition
• Physical stamina and strength

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                                        

• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred 
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.), preferred
• Prior experience working in manufacturing, preferred

Work Environment:                                                                                                                                                  

This Operator is required to work in a manufacturing environment facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
