Position Summary:

The person is position will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment of the daycare facility

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Clean classrooms
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment
  • organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, dish washing, changing of linens and cleaning duties related to children's care
  • Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children
  • participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips
  • Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas
  • Maintain a safe play environment
  • Remove hazards to create a safe environment for children
  • Model appropriate social behaviors and encourage concern for others to cultivate development of interpersonal relationships and communication skills
  • Keep records of play and meal schedules 
  • Understands HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights and Confidentiality 
  • Participate in performance improvement activities 
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

 

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test

 

Education:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) is required

 

Experience and Competencies:

  • General knowledge of housekeeping procedures is required
  • Bilingual is preferreD
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules 
  • Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things 
  • General knowledge of early childhood development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices
  • Enthusiastic personality that will engage preschool children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
  • Ability to communicate with teachers, support staff, parents, and students in a positive and constructive way
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives required
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems required
  • Ability to develop meaningful goals and objectives required 
  • Ability to be empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and enthusiastic
  • Excellent organizational skills
