Position Summary:

Person in this position will be responsible for the general transportation needs of the agency. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides support services to behavioral health clients or family member/caregivers of consumers as appropriate
  • Assists in the development and coordination of activities, programs, and resources which directly support clients or family members/caregivers of consumers in achieving wellness and recovery goals.
  • Assists consumers to develop self-advocacy, communication, and empowerment skills.
  • Assists consumers in obtaining benefits, i.e., SSI, General Relief, MediCal/MediCare, Section 8, identification cards.
  • Conducts outreach to consumers or family members/caregivers and the community, and acts as a liaison between consumers, family members/caregivers and community services providers.
  • Under immediate supervision, participates in resolving client concerns as required.
  • Facilitates, or assists in facilitating self-help groups for clients or family members/caregivers of clients
  • Documents all activities as required to claim/bill for services as applicable.
  • Trains clients in independent living skills such as public transportation, housing applications, interviews, shopping, employment, etc.
  • Under direction of clinical staff, monitors, informs supports, assists, and empowers a client or family members/caregivers who directly or indirectly receive behavioral health services.
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Class C Drivers License, although a Class B is preferred.
  • Experience consisting of two (2) years of providing direct substance abuse counseling services in an intensive setting.
  • Certification in drug and alcohol counseling or registration in a State of California approved certifying organization is required.
  • Ability to qualify for WestCare vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to pass criminal background investigation; and
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an Annual Tuberculosis test.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred.

Experience and Competencies:

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or residential treatment setting; and
  • Some outdoor activities may be required.
