Critical Care Paramedic will provide care and treatment of chronically or acutely ill and/or injured patients. Will work together with a team to adhere to the standards of care established by the protocols for the Critical Care Division, the Critical Care Paramedic will work hand in hand with our Critical Care Nurses to provide superior patient care in the ground transport environment.Â

Responsibilities:Â
•In collaboration with the patient and family, provides evidence-based professional patient care and coordinates care delivery with other members of the healthcare teamÂ
•May be required to drive the ambulance to relieve the primary driver during trips with no patient onboard or to accommodate dynamic staffing needsÂ
•Administers and maintains pharmacologic agents and intravenous fluids during inter hospital transportsÂ
•Operate and maintain proficiency with all equipment to in include cardiac monitors, ventilators, hi-flow, and IV pumpsÂ
•Assists the EMT/Driver in maintaining unit readiness and ensures cleanliness and appropriate par levels for supplies used in the ambulanceÂ
•Based on assessment of physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs, provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomesÂ
•Incorporates the principles of patient-centered careÂ
•Collaborates with online medical control physicians to manage the patient care of complex patients in transportÂ
•Communicates patients clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and written formatÂ
•Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patients medical recordÂ
•Consistently demonstrates effective documentation practices and develops strategies to ensure complete documentation of patient careÂ
•Complies with governmental and accreditation regulationsÂ
•Ensures safe operations during ambulance related activities in coordination with the Emergency Vehicle OperatorÂ
•Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment of caring for patients and familiesÂ
•Provides basic patient comfort measures during proceduresÂ
•Performs other duties as assignedÂ
