Position Overview:
The Vice President of Human Resources will champion HR initiatives and drive the people strategy for all operations within Priority Ambulance. The VP of HR will play a critical role in shaping Priority’s culture, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a high-performance work environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to align HR strategies with the overall business objectives, ensuring that our workforce is educated, equipped, informed, and engaged. This position requires a deep understanding of HR practices, employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading HR teams, managing policy and procedures, handling sensitive investigations, and influencing change at all levels of the company. Additionally, the VP of HR will be responsible for ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations and labor relations where applicable.  Working in close collaboration with the Chief Operations Officer, Director of Talent Acquisition, and Regional Presidents, the VP of HR will oversee all components of human resources with Priority Ambulance.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership
- Oversee employee relations and resolve complex HR issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws and regulations and implement policies to mitigate risks.
- Monitor HR metrics and use data to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Oversee HRIS system in conjunction with the Payroll and Benefits team
- Compliance with all EMS certification and regulatory requirements
- Create specialized recruitment campaigns targeting military veterans, healthcare professionals, and career changers
- Establish relationships with state EMS offices, professional associations, and certification bodies
- Oversee recruitment for both full-time and per diem/part-time positions to ensure 24/7 coverage
- Maintain oversight of wage levels at all operations with continual market research to assure competitiveness
- Work with marketing team to champion social media channels relative to recruitment
New Hire Onboarding Process
- Partner with Training and Talent Acquisition to seamlessly on-board new personnel
- Assure complete compliance with initial new hire requirements as well as ongoing certification requirements
- Coordinate with Benefits and Finance to develop competitive compensation packages that address EMS industry standards
Certification and Compliance Management
- Ensure all candidates meet state and federal EMS certification requirements
- Oversee background checks, drug screenings, and other assessments
- Maintain performance evaluation process and documentation
HR Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of HR resources throughout operations
- Collaborate with operations leadership during investigations
- Oversee corrective action processes and assure consistency in application
- Assure optimum documentation of investigations and corrective actions in coordination with legal department
Data Analysis and HR Planning
- Monitor and watch for trends (positive and negative) relative to human resources
- Track key metrics including retention rates and employee satisfaction
- Evaluate recruitment ROI and adjust strategies based on performance data
- Maintain ongoing staffing report and prepare position updates to leadership
