Description

The Audio Director is responsible for overseeing the operation, management, and continuous development of complex audio systems and processes across Milestone Church. This role primarily focuses on ensuring excellent sound quality and mixing in the Worship Center at our Keller Campus while continuously improving the overall audio experience across the campus.  The Audio Director will lead efforts to keep Milestone Church at the forefront of audio technology, while training and mentoring audio staff and volunteers to maintain a high standard of excellence.

The Production team is made up of individuals who are passionate about what they do and why they do it. There will be problem-solving, long weekends, sold-out events, last-minute changes, working with mostly volunteers, and growing through challenging situations, all while usually being the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. But, there is no greater reward than working with excellence and using technology and creativity towards the ultimate goal and vision of Reaching People and Building Lives. The Audio Director is a key role integral to the delivery and dissemination of the church's message of faith and biblical values through the avenues of live production and worship ministry abroad in the Production department. 

  • Audio Production: Lead and manage audio production during regular weekend services, special events, and worship team practices to ensure the highest sound quality.
  • Mixing & Sound Quality: Provide hands-on mixing and maintain excellent sound quality across services, balancing the needs of worship, preaching, and events.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with the Production and Worship teams to continually improve the audio experience across the church, ensuring seamless integration of audio elements into all services and programs.
  • Volunteer Development: Grow and train audio volunteers, creating a culture of learning and development that empowers volunteers to take ownership of their roles in audio production.
  • Spiritual Growth: Encourage volunteers' spiritual and personal growth, supporting initiatives like Growth Track, Freedom Ministry, and other church programs.
  • Research & Innovation: Keep Milestone Church's audio systems up to date with industry best practices, evaluating new technologies and processes to enhance the church’s audio capabilities.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain, give recommendations, and execute audio system plans and maintenance across Milestone Church. 
  • Leadership & Problem-Solving: Handle complex audio-related issues with minimal supervision, providing guidance and solutions for the team, and referring the most complex issues to higher-level staff as needed.
  • Commitment to Spiritual Growth: Attend at least one service per weekend to maintain a healthy and thriving religious faith that aligns with the vision and values of Milestone Church.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties related to the management and coordination of audio equipment tracking, repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Vibrant, mature Christian faith aligned with Milestone Church's mission and values.
  • Strong goal orientation with excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently manage and monitor work, maintaining focus and high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven reliability and dependability, including regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, interacting with other departments and ministries as needed.
  • In-depth experience with advanced audio hardware and software.
  • Proficient in Yamaha and Dante audio systems/software.
  • Strong working knowledge of complex audio systems and live production techniques.
  • Experience with both Mac and PC environments.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a similar audio production role, with a proven track record in live sound, system design, and team leadership.
  • To maintain this position, the HR department will conduct periodic review of required religious skills that can be grown or obtained for the staff member and/or their family by recommending any classes offered by Milestone Church that ensure a vibrant and healthy lifestyle of faith. 

Physical Demands

The physical demands may include:  sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting up to 70 pounds as needed to fulfill job duties and requirements.
