OrthoMed Anesthesia is seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Credentialing Specialist to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring our healthcare providers are properly credentialed, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Job Overview
The Credentialing Specialist plays a key role in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards, ultimately contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. Employees in this role will be responsible for ensuring that our newly hired and established providers are properly credentialed in a timely and accurate manner. This is a full-time position based at our corporate office in Addison, TX, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations. The role requires on-site presence during regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accrediting institutions
- Process credentialing applications for all new and established providers, involving detailed review of documents and data.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies, time delays and all other issues that could adversely impact the ability to effectively credential and onboard providers.
- Responsible for the recredentialing of providers with facilities
- Advise staff on renewal procedures
- Participate in the development of internal credentialing processes
- Keep accurate records of provider expirables (i.e. medical licenses, DEA, malpractice, etc.)
- Release information to agencies and members of the public as required by law
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years recent work experience as a healthcare provider credentialing specialist
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Great attention to detail and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in policies, laws and procedures
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work positively and collaboratively with Credentialing Team
- Must have the ability to accurately multitask and manage time effectively
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a growing work environment
- High School Diploma or GED Application required
