The Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center (GEC) develops and promotes pragmatic and nonpartisan policy solutions designed to advance global energy security, enhance economic opportunity, and accelerate pathways to net-zero emissions. Our Young Global Professionals (YGP) provide important research and logistical support to the Center. They are also encouraged to participate in and attend events hosted by other programs at the Atlantic Council.
YGPs are an integral part of the GEC. Our projects are all-hands-on-deck and we encourage interns to actively engage with events, projects, and research. This position will expose the candidate to the logistical elements of event-planning, think tank operations, research, and our publications process.Â
The successful candidate will have a passion for the work, an entrepreneurial ethos, and a collegial spirit while also being an effective communicator. With a work culture of constant learning, the GEC values strong writing skills and attention to detail, and the ability to produce rigorous work under deadlines. Demonstrated interest in international affairs and/or energy and climate through class work or  experience is strongly preferred.
This internship is based in our Washington, DC headquarters. Candidates must be available to work in-person throughout the duration of the program. Interns will be paid at a rate of $18.00 per hour.
