About Forward Defense:
The Atlantic Council’s Forward Defense (FD) program, housed within the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, conducts the Atlantic Council’s US defense strategy and policy research and analysis. FD generates ideas and connects stakeholders in the defense ecosystem to promote an enduring military advantage for the United States, its allies, and partners. Our work identifies the defense strategies, capabilities, and resources the United States and its allies need to deter and, if necessary, prevail in future conflict. Our work is divided into three main portfolios: defense strategies and military operations; nuclear deterrence and space security; and defense industry and innovation.
