JOB TITLE: Site Supervisor 

REPORTS TO: Director of Supported Employment  

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)  

LOCATION: Capital Group - Los Angeles, CA 

STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hrs./wk., Non-Exempt  

DRIVER POSITION: Yes [ If yes, see driving policy below] 

SALARY RANGE: $22.00 - $26.00/hr

ABOUT THE ROLE 

As a Site Supervisor, you will lead and support individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities in achieving success in integrated community employment settings. You’ll oversee a worksite team, provide direct supervision and guidance, and ensure a positive, safe, and productive experience for both program participants and employers. You will also support and mentor a Job Coach, helping implement person-centered strategies that promote skill-building, independence, and job retention. 

This is a dynamic, leadership-focused role ideal for someone passionate about inclusion, workforce development, and empowering individuals with diverse abilities to thrive in meaningful, community-based employment. 

 

Responsible for, either personally or through subordinate staff: 

  • Providing direct supervision, training and guidance to developmentally and physically disabled persons, individually or in groups, in community work settings.  
  • Assisting program participants to improve vocational skills with the goal of achieving gainful employment. 
  • Ensuring program participants are safe, properly trained and able to comply with needs of employers. 
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Job Coach. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Provide direct supervision, hands-on training, and ongoing support to program participants to help them develop the skills necessary to obtain and retain employment in community-based work settings. 
  • Deliver job-specific training tailored to each participant’s abilities, while aligning with employer expectations and workplace standards. 
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships between program participants, Job Coaches, and employer partners to ensure a positive and productive work environment. 
  • Create meaningful training opportunities that build participants’ vocational skills, workplace readiness, and qualifications for competitive employment. 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to set person-centered goals, advocate for participant choice, and implement strategies to address behavioral challenges. 
  • Serve as a liaison between the employer and Job Coach, communicating workplace expectations, updates, and feedback. 
  • Proactively identify and communicate barriers or concerns to the Director of Supported Employment, seeking guidance or additional support as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and objective documentation of participant progress, including productivity, goal attainment, job performance, and behavioral observations—either directly or through oversight of subordinate staff. 
  • Monitor and uphold quality standards of all work performed at the site, ensuring compliance with both employer and AbilityFirst expectations. 
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, health and safety regulations, and all workplace policies, including employer-specific safety procedures. 
  • Assess participant training needs and, in collaboration with the supervisor, develop and implement effective training plans. 
  • Actively participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and agency-sponsored events and professional development opportunities. 
  • Uphold our commitment as a Mandated Reporter, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization. 

 

 

Requirements 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, marriage & family, recreation therapy, or a related field is preferred, but not required.  
  • 2-4 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities is required
  • 2-4 years of experience providing one-on-one and group coaching to individuals with disabilities  in employment, educational, and volunteer settings is required
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • A functional knowledge of supported employment programs and Person-Centered Planning for adults with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from participant’s job sites is required.
  • Must have a flexible schedule in order to accommodate participant’s schedule is required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check. 
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution/problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient computer skills, including work processing, data entry, and email using Microsoft products 
  • Effective oral communications skills to supervise and train individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, direct subordinate employees and interact professionally with employers 
  • Ability to work independently and make well thought out business decisions 
  • Current California drivers’ license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier

Qualifications

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Changes in the environment, such as the office or outdoors.
  • Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary- up to 15-20 pounds at times.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

Mandated Reporting Requirements: The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.

 

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: Effective August 9, 2021, the State Health Officer has mandated that all workers, paid or unpaid, in homeless services organizations must provide proof of vaccination. If eligible for a booster shot, proof of booster is also required. If not fully vaccinated, weekly COVID-19 testing is necessary depending on the program. Driver Positions:

Applicants are required to provide a copy of their driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles, along with a copy of their valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.  Job offers are contingent upon a satisfactory driving record. Examples of an unsatisfactory driving record include:

  • Suspended or revoked license
  • Three or more moving violations in the past 36 months
  • Any violations, including drugs, alcohol, controlled substances, within the past 24 months
  • Reckless driving, including hit and runs, within the past 24 months
  • At fault accidents, resulting in fatality or serious injury, within the past 5 years

For driver positions, driving is an essential job function and cannot be reasonably accommodated, employment may be discontinued.
