Description

We are looking to add a new Quality Technician II to our amazing manufacturing team in Dallas/Fort Worth. This role performs the Inspection of Incoming Components, Work-in-Process (WIP), Return Material Authorization (RMA), and Final Machine Inspection.  Duties include but are not limited to the inspection of incoming components, electromechanical and mechanical parts, performing visual, dimensional, and gauge inspections, recording all required data, interpreting the results and recommending the appropriate action in accordance with referenced specifications, industry standards and NPI shop practices.

Duties will also include supporting projects and initiatives to ensure optimal plant performance, efficiency, and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use all required safety equipment and follow established safety procedures.
  • Receive and perform work assignments, oral and/or written and follow work instructions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, etc. to obtain material and dimensional information with minimal supervision.
  • Perform required tests and inspections per process specifications.
  • Document and test the required inspection of components.
  • Perform required process control actions to ensure materials meet minimum requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain inspection as needed.
  • Conduct inspection techniques and processes to qualify supplier materials.
  • Work with or take direction from supervisor as required.
  • Follow all applicable specifications and procedures regarding the performance of incoming inspection.
  • Keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition (5S requirements).
  • Support and apply team concepts in daily activities.
  • Inspection, tag & release of the materials.
  • Handling of specific software used for QA purposes.
  • Makes sure RMAs are processed promptly as they arrive from receiving.
  • Delivers returned merchandise to the appropriate warehouse.
  • Processes Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) transactions.
  • Completes paperwork and updates database so that RMAs can be tracked.
  • Check and record RMA inventory in stock on a regular basis.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and written specifications.
  • Experience approving or rejecting raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills using various inspection tools including calipers, height gages, gage pins, meters, etc.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division); advanced math skills a plus.
  • The ability to use various computer programs in the day-to-day performance of quality control documentation.
  • The ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • The ability to work effectively with other departments during the quality process.
  • The ability to work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.
  • A self-starter able to work with little supervision.
  • Handing, opening and inspecting items returned by customers.
  • Accurately entering data, analyzing data, and identifying return reasons.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years’ job experience in a Quality role

  • Experience with motor driven systems, conveyors, sortation equipment, or comparable/similar industries.

  • Possess a mid to high level technical knowledge

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Unassisted lifting capability: Up to 50 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced ability to analyze mechanical drawings, dimensional tolerances and data comprehension (GD&T).

  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (gauges, micrometers, etc.)

  • Excellent team player with ability to work independently and perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.

  • Excellent communications skills to effectively and accurately communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Adequate PC skills including Microsoft Office tools, Outlook and SYSPRO
