Description

Maintains accurate records of all revenue transactions. Processes proceeds, prepares regular reports for management, and investigates and reconciles records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support all monthly regulatory and production tax filings and payments.
  • Perform allocation of wellhead sales to working interest owners as appropriate for both current month and all PPA’s.    
  • Accurately ensure revenue accounts receivable is offset against cash receipts after revenue has been booked.
  • Establish revenue agreements and shipper contracts within the accounting system to properly account for marketing arrangements, gathering systems, severance taxes, price postings and product flow.
  • Prepare revenue related variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate with the field and Marketing to ensure volumes and pricing are correct.
  • Calculate and record monthly revenue accrual entries.
  • Coordinate monthly revenue payment run.
  • Calculate pipeline inventories and imbalances.  Prepare ledger entries and process sales adjustments as necessary to reflect the effect of inventory on sales and income.
  • Research, reconcile and resolve outstanding accounts receivable. 
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Manage suspense balance in coordination with land administration team.
  • Maintain payout balances and ensure necessary prior period adjustments are booked timely.
  • Prepare revenue source documentation for audit requests.
  • Serve as a key contact for owner inquiries and provide prompt and accurate responses.
  • Process all owner voids and re-issues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related or accounting discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years revenue related oil and gas experience.
  • Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in the use of oil and gas accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of Enertia is a plus.
  • Must have experience and knowledge in the following areas:
    • Oil and gas revenue distributions
    • Oil and gas division of interest and ownership
    • Generally accepted accounting principles
    • Oil and gas contracts
    • Account reconciliation
    • Collection of receivables 
  • Must be able to accomplish several assignments concurrently, efficiently managing a heavy workload, and effectively working with people at several different levels in the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting, visual and mental acuity, manual dexterity, hearing, speaking.
  • Ability to work at computer for long periods of time.

Environmental Conditions

  • Works indoors in office environment.
