The Louisville Fire Protection District (LFPD) proudly serves the community of Louisville, Colorado, from three strategically located fire stations in scenic Boulder County. We are currently accepting applications for Lateral Firefighter/EMT positions to fill immediate openings and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team of professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional fire rescue and emergency medical services to our community. Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Valid, unrestricted Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain within one month of hire)
- Two (2) years of continuous experience as a full-time Structural Firefighter/EMT.
- Pro Board or IFSAC Firefighter I certification (or higher)
- State of Colorado EMT-Basic or National Registry EMT with ability to obtain Colorado certification within one month of hire
- Pro Board or IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations certification (or higher)
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings (background check, drug screening, physical, psychological evaluation)
Note: Paramedics are encouraged to apply but will not receive paramedic-level pay unless a paramedic position becomes available.
Post-Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of the district condensed academy
- Pass the Louisville Physical Ability Test (LPAT) within probationary period (or provide a valid CPAT within one year of hire)
- Completion of the following within one year of hire:
- NIMS I-100, I-200, IS-700
- NWCG S-130/S-190
- LFPD EMS Field Instruction Program
- IV Certification
- Child Car Seat Technician Certification
- Maintain annual fitness and physical standards
- Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license
