CODA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Medical Director to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in Oregon. About the Role

As a key member of CODA’s Executive Team, the Senior Medical Director plays a strategic role in:

  • Setting organizational goals, assessing progress, and guiding transformative change
  • Integrating medical service delivery into CODA’s broader vision and long-term planning
  • Supervising and mentoring program Medical Directors across CODA’s full continuum of care
  • Promoting clinical excellence through audits, compliance oversight, and continuous quality improvement
  • Supporting and elevating multidisciplinary, trauma-informed care across departments
  • Representing CODA externally with community stakeholders and regional healthcare partners

What You'll Do

  • Lead integration of medical services with clinical, administrative, and business strategies
  • Supervise agency Medical Directors and provide consultation and guidance to medical staff
  • Oversee medical compliance and participate in credentialing, policy development, and performance improvement
  • Serve as a thought leader for regulatory, ethical, and pharmacotherapy best practices
  • Represent CODA in partnerships with hospitals, professional societies, and educational institutions
  • Balance fiscal responsibility with clinical and operational excellence
  • Provide back-up medical coverage and consultation as needed
  • Actively contribute to CODA’s culture of collaboration, compassion, courage, and respect

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • M.D. or D.O. with current Oregon medical license and DEA certification
  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical leadership experience in behavioral health or community healthcare
  • Deep expertise in addiction pharmacotherapy and integrated behavioral health models
  • Demonstrated success mentoring physicians and medical staff with tailored feedback and developmental support
  • High-level strategic thinking and capacity to weigh long-term tradeoffs in clinical care, workforce, and operations
  • Comfort engaging across diverse roles—from front-line clinicians to executive peers—using strong interpersonal, written, and spoken communication
