911 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR POSITION SUMMARY

The Authority is currently recruiting a 911 Communications Operator to join Georgia World Congress Center. The 911 Communications Operator will perform daily work assignments delegated by the 911 Communications Supervisor or 911 Communications Manager including but not limited to dispatching police and security radio communications, completing security logs, recording key assignments, answering phones, typing, filing, copying, and responding to emergencies or similar tasks required by the 911 Communications Operator. 911 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispatch police and security calls promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct surveillance of the interior and exterior facility through the closed-circuit TV system, and patrol duties as required.
  • Direct and redirect incoming calls.
  • Operate Dispatch Window-Security logs, key logs, radio distribution.
  • Operate two-way radios, voice pagers, and radio base station equipment.
  • Perform as a point of information to the general public.
  • Maintain public image with customers and general public within the Georgia World Congress Center.
  • Operate computer aided dispatch system and NCIC/GCIC computer terminal.
  • Such other duties, functions, special projects as assigned by the Communications Supervisor.
  • Actively participate in The Authority training programs as required.
  • Accurately document and complete administrative paperwork.
  • Comply with The Authority policies and procedures associated with such programs as risk management, safety, and emergency management. 
  • Maintain an ethical and professional image when interacting with internal and external customers in to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 

911 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative
  • Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources
  • High degree of integrity and compliance
  • Thoroughness in task approach, follow-up & completion;
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Self-awareness
  • Assess, weigh and manage risk in the face of uncertainty
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

 

 

911 COMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum high school education or General education (GED)
  • One (1) year experience in a security or related function preferred
  • Must obtain required NCIC/GCIC training certification within sixty (60) days of employment
  • Must possess a valid Georgia Drivers License
