POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Clinical Supervisor, in collaboration with the Leadership Team, is responsible for providing oversight and support to both clinical and non-clinical staff assigned to the Full Service Partnership (FSP) program, which delivers intensive mental health and supportive services to adults with mental health challenges or co-occurring disorders. The Clinical Supervisor will play a key role in the development of policies and procedures, support program implementation, and ensure the achievement of program objectives. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor will work collaboratively with government agencies, community-based organizations, and other partners to enhance and strengthen the communities we serve. This role will uphold and champion the agency’s mission, vision, and values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.   

La Familia offers a recruitment bonus for any Behavioral Health or Substance Use Disorder programs and positions that require occupational licenses or certifications are eligible. This bonus is paid throughout your first year of continued employment in increments of $500 at 30 days, $500 at 6 months and $1,000 at year one. 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: 

Staff Supervision: 

  • Provide direct clinical supervision to service staff including, but not limited to:
  • Conduct weekly individual clinical supervision for Trainees/Interns, and Staff Therapists (which may include AMFT/LMFT, ASW/LCSW, or Registered Psychologist staff) in compliance with standards set by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and Board of Psychology;
  • Participate in weekly group supervision for all programs;
  • Provide on-call staff with needed support and guidance;  
  • Documentation Review and Quality Assurance Support;
  • Review documentation in the electronic health records system to evaluate and approve clinical documentation completed by program staff such as assessments, diagnosis, treatment plan, progress notes, screening tools, etc. 

Contract Management

  • Serve as a liaison with all funders on all programmatic and operations issues.
  • Attend all funder-required meetings, events, and training.
  • Ensure delivery of program elements in compliance with contract language.
  • Submit all necessary documents and reports to funders by deadlines.
  • Work with the Regional/Clinical Director, Compliance & Strategic Planning Manager, and La Familia Administration to ensure appropriate contract expenditures.

  • Attend trainings and participate in events relevant to key responsibilities
  • Track and regularly report on key metrics for responsible function areas
  • Leads and collaborates on special projects related to agency objectives as appropriate 
  • Other miscellaneous duties as appropriate

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Be a qualified Clinical Supervisor per standards set forth by the California Boards of Behavioral Health/Psychology: maintain active and unrestricted LPHA license (e.g., Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC), including a minimum of 6 hours of Supervisory Continuing Education Units per license renewal period. Proof of completion of these hours shall be available on request.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and their treatment using various, evidence-based approaches.
  • Non-Profit and Community Based Organization experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates and models excellent “customer service” orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.
  • Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed. 
  • Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties. 
  • Proficient using MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Acquires or maintains proficiency in using Google Drive products, including Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Valid CA Driver’s license
    • Auto insurance:  Personal vehicle may be used for business related purposes; it is recommended you inform your auto insurance carrier.

  • Assumes responsibility for doing assigned work and for meeting deadlines.  Completes assigned work on or before deadlines in accordance with directives, policies, standards and proscribed procedures.  
  • Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to clients including cultural and ethical beliefs; and implements care in a thorough, skillful, consistent and continuous manner.
  • Knowledge of community resources for client referrals.
  • Attends work regularly and adheres to policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.  Provides adequate notice to supervisor and management with respect to vacation time and time-off requests. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues including client confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of client care and department functioning.
