Choose Chicago is the official sales and marketing organization responsible for promoting Chicago as a global visitor destination to business and leisure travelers.
POSITION SUMMARY
Choose Chicago Drivers are responsible for providing the highest quality services to assigned clients during site inspections, airport transfers, and client transfers. Driver will be responsible for inspecting the vehicle before and after every assignment to ensure standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort.Â
Works in close partnership with the Client Services and Sales Department by acting as an extension of Choose Chicago and the city. The driver is often the first representative our clients interact with, and we aim to make a great first impression.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will be driving the Choose Chicago vehicle in the city for various tasks and events.
- May sometimes be engaged in conversation with clients. It is critically important to be cordial and professional and always maintain a calm behavior and attitude. Driver should refrain from inappropriate language and gestures.
- Smoking is not allowed at any time by anyone including Choose Chicago guests in the vehicles.
- Must obey all traffic laws. Speeding tickets, red-light violations and towing expenses are the responsibility of the driver. All passengers must wear a seatbelt.
- In case of an accident, after obtaining a police report and other driver/insurance information, and taking care of any medical emergencies, immediately report incident to the Client Services Coordinator and the Chief Financial Officer.Â
- Must inspect vehicle prior  and after each assignment. Vehicle should always be equipped with:

- Copy of current Insurance registration
- Chicago collateral (Map, Chicago official visitors guide, and Meeting Professionals Guide)
- Client amenities including water, snacks, phone charger/phone accessory bag, napkins, and tissue.
- Inspect vehicle after assignment:
- Vehicle must be returned with a full tank of gas. (All gas for Chose Chicago vehicles to be charged to the Choose Chicago BP credit card)
- Vehicle to be returned clean if time/weather permits. Choose Chicago has an account at South Loop Hand Car Wash, 2009 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60616.If a car is to be washed, this is where it should be washed. Drivers won’t be reimbursed if vehicles are washed elsewhere.
- Remove all trash and other items left behind in vehicle upon returning vehicle to Choose Chicago. If someone leaves personal items behind, try to contact them on their cell phones immediately and return items to them. If you are unable to return the item, item should be giving to the Client Services Coordinator upon returning to Choose Chicago.
- A Choose Chicago cell phone is assigned to each vehicle. Driver to use personal cell phone as a back-up. Â
- Assignment cancellation policy: Drivers will be notified a minimum of 24 hours in advance prior to your start time of cancelled assignment. If we are unable to provide 24-hour advance notice, Driver will be compensated for three hours.
- Must confirm shift 24 hours in advance with Client Service Coordinator by text or phone call.
- Must notify Client Services Coordinator as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours in advance via phone call if they can no longer complete the shift.
- All personal food purchases made by the Driver during assignment are the responsibility of the driver. Eating is not allowed while driving the vehicle.
- Professional attire is required at all times. (e.g., slacks, suit jacket & tie) Depending on the assignment there may be occasions when a driver can dress more casually.Â
- Choose Chicago identification is required to be worn at all times.
- Personal guests are not allowed in the vehicle at any time.
- Before any assignment, driver should consult maps or navigational devices for desired routes, and check radio or online traffic and weather reports for departure and destination locations. Driver should advise the main Choose Chicago contact and/or clients of potential or existing adverse conditions and alternative routes or travel time adjustments.
- Soliciting tips or favors from clients/passengers is strictly prohibited. However, should a client offer a tip, Driver is allowed to graciously accept.
- Responsible for notifying the Client Services Coordinator of any issues with the vehicle.

Vehicle maintenance scheduling is handled by the Client Services Coordinator. Driver may be asked to facilitate vehicle transport to and from the service facility.Â
