Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator  

 

Location: Chicago, IL 

FLSA Status: Part Time – Hourly (Non-Exempt) 

Department: Equity Diversity & Inclusion  

Reports To: Director of Equity Diversity & Inclusion 

 

 

Position Summary 

 

We are seeking a dedicated EDI Coordinator to promote and support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within our organization. The ideal candidate will develop and implement programs that foster an inclusive workplace culture and community engagement. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop and execute team efforts for internal employee engagement and cultural initiatives. 

 

  • Coordinate Choose Chicago’s presence and engagement at key community events. 

 

  • Support the planning and execution of the Choose Chicago Foundation’s annual fundraising event and others as needed. 

 

  • Monitor and report on DEI metrics and progress. 

 

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Choose Chicago Foundation Scholarship Program. 

 

  • Support diverse talent pipeline initiatives and related to school outreach efforts. 

 

  • Create and manage content, along with distribution for the Choose Chicago Foundation’s quarterly newsletter. 

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 

 

  • Proven experience in DEI coordination or a related field in an office setting (2-3 years). 

 

  • Strong understanding of DEI principles and best practices. 

 

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills. 

 

  • Ability to research, analyze data and generate reports using CRM (Simpleview) and other technology. 

 

  • Team player, self-starter, ability to travel local, work independently and be flexible. 

 

  • Passion for youth engagement and servant leadership. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

 

  • Experience with DEI program development. 

 

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations. 

 

 

This position functions in a hybrid office environment.  2 days in the office and 1 working from home.
