Samuel Engineering, Inc. (Samuel) is pleased to present the Samuel Academy Internship Program (SAIP)!  

Position Overview: Samuel Engineering Inc. is seeking motivated high school juniors or beyond to join our team as General CAD Drafting Interns. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in CAD drafting, supporting our engineering projects, and developing practical skills in a professional environment. Successful interns will have the opportunity to be considered for full-time employment upon graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
  • Work closely with senior drafters and engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Revise and update existing drawings to reflect changes and corrections.
  • Organize and maintain CAD files and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
  • Perform basic calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
  • Adhere to company standards and protocols for drafting and design.
  • Assist in other tasks related to engineering projects as needed.

Drafting Program Details

Introduce you to the practical aspects of drafting while you complete your academic studies.

Combination of shadowing, basic project tasks, Samuel standards and procedures, project drafting exercises

Broken into groups based on needs of the company, students’ interesst. Groups rotate from discipline to discipline, frequency of rotation depends on group sizes.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least your junior year of highschool, with intention to enter the workforce full-time after graduating high school or technical school.
  • Basic understanding of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong interest in engineering, architecture, or related fields.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
