Floor Scanner

Job Summary: 

The Floor Scanner is responsible for accurately scanning, tracking, and recording products, materials, or inventory items on the warehouse or production floor. This role ensures that all goods are correctly identified and logged into the company’s inventory management system, supporting accurate stock levels and efficient operations. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• None. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Use handheld or mounted scanning devices to record product barcodes, labels, or RFID tags. 

• Verify product information, quantities, and locations against system data. 

• Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or missing items to the supervisor. 

• Maintain an organized and safe working area during scanning activities. 

• Collaborate with warehouse staff to support picking, packing, and replenishment tasks as needed. 

• Assist in periodic stock counts and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy. 

• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards. 

• Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Familiarity with barcode scanners, RF devices, or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, WMS). 

• Basic computer literacy and attention to detail. 

• Good communication and teamwork skills. 

Education and Experience: 

• Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control preferred. 

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness. 

• Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet. 

• Able to stand for extended periods.
