The Automotive Title Clerk is responsible for managing and processing all paperwork related to vehicle titles and registrations. This role involves ensuring compliance with Ohio state laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service to clients and dealerships.
Reports To: Office Manager or the Assistant Office Manager
Job Duties:
· Title Processing:
o Prepare and process vehicle title applications, transfers, and registrations.
o Verify accuracy and completeness of title documents and ensure they comply with Ohio state laws.
o Handle title corrections and duplicate title requests.
· Record Maintenance:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all title and registration transactions.
o Update and manage electronic and physical files related to vehicle titles and registrations.
· Dealership Service:
o Assist the individual dealerships with inquiries related to vehicle titles, registrations, and documentation.
o Resolve issues and answer questions regarding title status and registration processes.
· Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure all transactions adhere to Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) regulations and guidelines.
o Prepare and submit reports related to title transactions and compliance as required.
· Coordination and Communication:
o Collaborate with dealership staff, lenders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth title transactions.
o Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates and obtain necessary documentation.
· Administrative Duties:
o Process payments related to title fees, taxes, and registration.
o Perform data entry tasks and manage office supplies related to title process
Other office duties as needed.
· Training and Support:
o Stay updated on changes in state regulations and BMV procedures.
o Provide training and support to new staff members as needed.
