IFG is seeking an Onboarding Manager to lead independent financial advisors through the complex process of transitioning their practice to IFG. Serving as the primary point of contact throughout onboarding, ensures a seamless experience from initial engagement through post-transition support.  This role is critical to advisor satisfaction and long-term retention requiring exceptional project management, communication, and compliance awareness.


The Onboarding Manager will coordinate efforts across a team of subject matter experts and work closely with Licensing, Registration, Commissions, Compliance, Insurance, and Operations to deliver an exceptional advisor onboarding experience. This position requires both leadership and hands-on project management skills, with a strong focus on advisor satisfaction, operational efficiency, and compliance.

Job Duties:

Advisor Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for advisors throughout the transition journey, -from pre-affiliation through post-onboarding.
  • Conduct discovery calls with incoming advisors to evaluate their book of business and align expectations.
  • Provide clear, step-by-step guidance on registration, affiliation, compliance documentation, and access to essential platforms. Coordinate IFG esource to deliver all necessary onboarding sessions, platform walkthroughs, and ongoing training and support during the first 90 days post-affiliation.
  • Gather newly affiliated advisor feedback through regular Check-ins to enhance the transition process and support experience.

Strategic Transition Oversight

  • Translate recruiting commitments into actionable onboarding plans that align with firm objectives and timelines.
  • Design and implement tailored onboarding strategies in collaboration with internal departments.
  • Create and maintain key onboarding resources, including checklists, transition timelines, and educational materials.
  • Monitor advisor progress and coordinate/direct IFG resources to ensure a timely and seamless onboarding experience.

Operational Leadership & Support

  • Partner with team leads to establish clear goals, service standards, and resource planning across multiple advisor transitions.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop resources and training materials that support advisors in understanding compliance and operational procedures.
  • Drive the adoption of standardized workflows that enhance, scalability, and consistency across onboarding activities. Facilitate post-transition reviews with key stakeholders to identify lessons learned and inform ongoing process improvements.

 

Training Initiatives

  • Implement comprehensive onboarding training programs that reduce transition time.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop high-impact training resources that clarify compliance and operational processes for “model-office” operations.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops to build knowledge of tools and foster community among advisors.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, including 5+ years hands-on working on transitions and advisor onboarding (leadership experience preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance, licensing, and operational onboarding.
  • Series 7 and/or Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) license preferred.

  • Proficiency with financial services platforms such as Redtail CRM, Docupace, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Familiarity with transition/onboarding tools preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 20-30% of the time to support in-person onboarding, advisor meetings, or internal planning sessions as needed.
  • Travel may include occasional overnight stays depending on the location and scope of advisor transitions.
