Employee Job Title: Regulatory & Quality Compliance Manager

Location: Remote

Hours: Full-time, Mon - Fri, between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm PST

Direct Report: COO 

Compensation: Exempt, $80,000 - $100,000/year


Job Description: The Regulatory & Quality Compliance Manager ensures Dr. Killigan’s compliance with FIFRA and all international, federal, state, and local pesticide regulations while overseeing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This strategic role leads regulatory and quality initiatives, manages agency submissions, supervises quality processes, and serves as the primary liaison with state and federal authorities. Collaborating with Products, Operations, Marketing and Supply Chain teams, the manager drives compliance across the product lifecycle and champions continuous improvement.




Responsibilities:
 




Regulatory Compliance


  • Ensure full FIFRA compliance, including product registration, labeling, and reporting
  • Maintain adherence to state, international, and local pesticide regulations
  • Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) against compliance requirements and request necessary changes from the Products department for implementation
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting products and services
  • Serve as the primary contact for state, federal, and international regulatory agencies
  • Ensure that claims made on the website, emails, posts, ads, and other marketing materials are compliant with FIFRA regulations and product registration requirements
  • Ensure compliance with external partners (Amazon, Walmart.com, etc.) in addition to internal products
  • Communicate labeling update needs for state registration and advocate/push back on states when requirements cannot be met or label needs are declined

Quality Management

  • Oversee the company’s QMS and implement quality policies, SOPs, and best practices
  • Conduct internal audits, investigations of manufacturing errors, quality inspections, and root cause analyses; ensure documentation is filed accordingly
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure continuous improvement
  • Establish and track quality performance metrics and report to senior leadership
  • Maintain and organize Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers, ensure proper filing and accessibility of quality documentation, and coordinate required third-party testing

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor team members responsible for compliance and quality
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide professional development
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and regulatory excellence across the organization
  • Collaborate with Products, Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams for regulatory and quality alignment

Documentation & Submissions

  • Prepare and submit pesticide registration applications and amendments, including state and international registrations
  • Maintain compliance and quality records for inspections and audits in an organized, digital filing system aligned with company standards within Google Drive
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for regulatory and quality data

Compliance Standards & Internal Guidance

  • Maintain government safety standards with label compliance & quality procedures
  • Inform product, operations, and marketing teams on regulatory and quality requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of regulatory experience in pesticides, chemicals, or other highly regulated industries
  • Expertise in FIFRA compliance; state, UK, and other international pesticide regulations; QMS; product registration; labeling; SDS review; audits; and CAPA processes
  • Proven experience interacting with federal and state regulatory agencies
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills; ability to mentor staff and influence cross-functional teams
  • Technical proficiency with Monday.com, Slack, Google Workspace, Amazon Seller Central, and Walmart.com, with proven experience thriving in remote or hybrid work environments
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, digitally driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently review and verify work for accuracy and compliance
  • Strategic thinker with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, accountable, and committed to high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory excellence
